Security of the Interac e-Transfer service
Wondering if Interac e-Transfer is secure? When you use this service, the only things you'll receive by email or text are notifications or deposit instructions. Information about your account is never sent to the deposit recipient.
To better protect yourself, adopt good habits:
- Security question: If you use one to make a transfer, make sure the answer is hard to guess, even for someone close to you. Using a security question prevents another person from depositing the funds.
- Phishing: Beware of text messages and emails that ask for personal information or promise you some kind of compensation.
