Desjardins Group structure
Our structure is designed to take into account the needs of our members and clients, as well as those of the markets in which we operate.
Business sectors
The caisse network in Quebec and Ontario has the support of 4 main business sectors, which reinforces our ability to build on our products and services.
Personal services
This sector is responsible for developing and marketing the personal services offer for financing, credit and debit cards.
They provide support for the distribution of products and services for the caisses and their service centres by optimizing the performance and profitability of their brick-and-mortar (caisses, business centres and ATMs) and virtual networks (phone and online). They also help develop and manage the complementary networks for the caisses and branches across Canada and in Florida.
Business services
This sector is responsible for developing and marketing the business services offer and providing support to the caisses and Desjardins Business centres in their services to these clients.
The service offer meets the needs of businesses of all sizes and includes day-to-day transactions, investment, financing, access to capital markets, investment capital, venture capital as well as specialized and advisory services. They provide services to large corporations and to the public, the broader public sector and to institutions.
Its products and services are available through complementary distribution networks: by phone, online and at ATMs. Sales teams work throughout Quebec and in some major Canadian cities to give businesses better access to development capital.
Wealth management and life and health insurance
The wealth management and life and health insurance sectors offer a wide range of products and services tailored to the changing asset management and financial security needs of individuals, groups, businesses, caisse network members and clients of complementary distribution channels. This service offer meets consumer needs in terms of products and advisory services, life and health insurance, group insurance plans, savings plans, brokerage, as well as securities and real estate investments throughout Quebec and Ontario as well as in several major Canadian cities.
Some products and services can also be purchased by phone and online.
Property and casualty insurance
The property and casualty insurance sector directly offers a line of automobile and home insurance products to the public, members of partner groups and businesses. In addition to being sold through the caisse network, these products are distributed across Canada through several Client Care Centres, over the Internet, via applications for mobile devices and by a large financial services and insurance product network.

Our international commitment
Développement international Desjardins (DID)
Providing technical support and investment to the most disadvantaged communities on the planet and with the necessary means for self-organization so that they can meet their own needs.
Desjardins Representative Office in Europe
The Desjardins Representative Office in Europe provides financial support and the resources you need for your plans.
International alliances
A study published by the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) entitled “Global 300” reveals that in 2004, the 300 largest co-operative and mutual institutions combined had a turnover of USD 979 billion, the equivalent to the GDP of Canada, the 9th largest economy in the world. Although that’s a significant amount of money in the hands of members of these cooperatives, the number could be higher still.
In the context of globalization, cooperatives are havens of stability that give us control over our future. We cannot allow cooperatives to be dominated by profit maximization, a concept that is spreading to the detriment of people and communities.
International Co-operative Banking Association (ICBA)
The International Co-operative Banking Association is an ICA organization devoted to banking. The ICBA represents about 50 cooperative organizations and institutions in 50 countries on four continents. Its goals are the same as those of the ICA, but it operates exclusively in the cooperative banking industry.
International Co-operative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF)
ICMIF is the branch of ICA that specializes in the insurance industry. Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company and Desjardins Group, General Insurance are ICMIF members.
The International Confederation of Popular Banks (CIBP)
The CIBP associates banking and financial institutions and organizations, the aim of which is to encourage the development of small and medium-sized companies and the middle classes.
