Seniors instill a love of reading in children

A grey-haired volunteer reads to a small group of spellbound children. A fire has been lit. Each week for about 8 weeks, they get together to read stories as part of the Lire et faire lire program.

We’re proud to support this program, which instills a love of reading in children aged 4 to 8 and fosters bonds across generations.

It’s a win-win for everyone. It boosts the children’s academic performance, especially for students with learning disabilities and children from immigrant families. It also gives the senior volunteers a chance to get out every week and make a difference in the lives of children.
