On the Road campaign: $1 million raised for our youth

On October 19 and 20, 2023, more than 700 employees from the Operations Executive Division walked or ran for 24 hours straight to raise money for young people during the seventh annual On the Road event. This year, the initiative raised close to $220,000 to support young people's education. That brings the total raised since the campaign first started to $1 million—an amount that has helped more than 31,000 young people.

A wild idea becomes a major commitment

"When we first started 7 years ago, there were just a few of us. We challenged each other to run the distance between Montreal and Lévis to raise money for young people. This year, more than 700 employees participated in the event, and 135 Desjardins business partners chose to support the cause. Now that's a powerful image, and it really drives home how strong our team is and how committed we are to supporting young people," said Nadia Malek, Vice-President of Procurement and Administrative Services, who has supported the project since its first year.

Helping youth through the Desjardins Foundation

Every dollar raised will go toward scholarships for hard-working post-secondary students as well as financial assistance for dedicated teachers and educators to organize projects to motivate their students. We'll also be donating money to the YMCAs of Quebec to allow underprivileged kids attend the organization's day camps.
