New partner organizations to make an even greater difference

Young people need our help to face the many challenges that have been made worse by the pandemic. Luckily, thanks to the incredible efforts of Desjardins Group and its employees, we're increasing our ability to support organizations and youth and their families across the country. We're especially proud to announce 4 partnerships that will allow us to have a positive impact on young people's education.

Kids Help Phone: A sympathetic ear at any time

We know that the pandemic has negatively impacted young people's mental health. They've lost their social networks, their bearings, and in many cases, adults they could count on in their lives. But whatever they need, Kids Help Phone is always there, whether by phone, chat, text message or discussion forums. The support from the Desjardins Foundation allows us to make youth services more accessible and to help young people find the best support and a sympathetic ear anywhere in the country.

« "Desjardins's enduring dedication to the well-being of Canada's youth is evident through its investments in communities across Canada. Desjardins's support will help us deliver on the full impact and potential of our innovative and ever-evolving suite of e-mental health services – helping young people harness the power of hope and building a brighter, better and bolder future for everyone in the process. We are incredibly grateful for Desjardins's partnership with Kids Help Phone. Together, we are creating transformational change that will be felt for generations to come." »

Biblio-Jeux: Developing children's language skills

The Biblio-Jeux program was developed by speech language therapists who use family games to develop the oral and written language of children from 6 months to 12 years of age. With the support of the Desjardins Foundation, the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec will be able to introduce the program in many public libraries across Quebec.

Institut Pacifique: Learning conflict resolution from a young age

Social relations are important for young people, allowing them to develop throughout their lives. We're proud to announce a new partnership with Institut Pacifique to revamp and roll out their Vers le pacifique program. The program, which has been around for 25 years now, offers workshops in daycares and elementary schools to teach young people important interpersonal skills such as managing their emotions, resolving conflicts and peer mediation. It's a great tool to make schools a positive environment where every young person can be comfortable.

Éducaloi: Teaching about rights and responsibilities

The Desjardins Foundation remains committed to Éducaloi, a well-known legal education service in Quebec, and its school outreach. Our support will allow the organization to continue its educational activities with young people and to make legal information more widely available in schools, especially through their teaching guides that educators can integrate in different ways. Through its activities, thousands of young people in all the regions of Quebec will be made aware of issues such as the right to privacy, intimidation, prohibited online behaviours, the legal professions and much more!

By combining the financial assistance of the Foundation and the strength of the Desjardins network, we have the power to make a real difference for these organizations that help young people on a daily basis. Our support is greatly appreciated by community organizations, which have been heavily impacted by the pandemic.
