Helping to give young people hope at Auberges du cœur
For nearly 10 years, the Desjardins Foundation has been providing young people staying at the 32 Auberges du cœur youth shelters across Quebec with the tools they need to continue their studies. The funds donated go towards meeting each shelter's specific needs—which may include tutoring services, school supplies and computers—to boost young people's motivation to stay in school. The Desjardins Foundation is pleased to announce that it has renewed its commitment to the Fondation des Auberges du cœur - External link. This link will open a new window. for the next 3 years.
A safe, comforting place for troubled young people experiencing homelessness
These shelters are spread across 10 administrative regions in Quebec, serving young people ages 12–35 who are at risk of becoming homeless. Staying at an Auberges du cœur gives these young people hope of finding a way forward. The Auberges and their staff play a vital role in opening the door to a brighter future.
Emotional visits for Friends of the Desjardins Foundation
A small group of Friends of the Desjardins Foundation had the opportunity to witness just how much of an impact their donations have had on the lives of these young people. We invited them to come and meet with residents of the shelters in Laval and Sainte-Foy in Quebec City. All agreed that, although it was a very emotional, the time spent with young people and staff confirmed what a remarkable job this organization does.
