Isabelle Garon
Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Communications, Cooperation and President's Office
Isabelle Garon is Executive Vice-President of Marketing, Communications, Cooperation and the President's Office. She's the right hand of the President and CEO, supporting him in his duties and acting as the preferred liaison with elected caisse directors and the board of directors.
In addition to fulfilling her duties for the President's Office, Isabelle works with senior executives to make sure the strategies and initiatives implemented across Desjardins Group benefit members and clients and reflect the organization's mission, values and cooperative nature. To do so, she relies on teams working in national marketing, corporate communications, change management and the organization's cultural shift.
She joined Desjardins Group in 2005, initially taking on strategic advisor roles with senior management. Before that, she had been a political attaché for Quebec's Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, a strategic advisor for Direction de la protection de la santé publique and an advisor to an associate secretary of the Ministère du Conseil exécutif.
Isabelle holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Université Laval, a master's degree in cooperative development from Université de Sherbrooke and a doctorate in political science. She's also a governor of the foundation of École de gestion de l'Université de Sherbrooke's Bureau des gouverneurs and serves on the steering committee of the Alphonse and Dorimène Desjardins International Institute for Cooperatives, a research unit at HEC Montreal.
For many years now, she has chaired the fundraising campaign for Auberges du cœur, a foundation that helps Quebec's homeless and at-risk youth.
