Program for new sustainable renovations

Program for sustainable renovations

  • Access to a full range of mortgages at competitive rates
  • Up to $500 cash back

Desjardins has a cash back program for sustainable renovations.

To take advantage of the program, your renovation plans have to meet the conditions of both Rénoclimat (Quebec only) and the Sustainable Home Program by having a new EnerGuide label with a rating of 90 GJ/year or under. The EnerGuide rating is the net annual energy consumption of a home based on its energy use and production in gigajoules (GJ) per year. To learn more about the EnerGuide rating, visit the Natural Resources Canada website.

Cash back based on the amount of refinancing

Get up to $500 cash back based on the mortgage refinancing for your sustainable renovations, your EnerGuide rating of 90 GJ/year or under, and your Rénoclimat-compliant renovations.

Eligibility

The offer is for members who already have a Desjardins mortgage and for new members who transfer their mortgage from another financial institution and are financing their sustainable renovations.

The eligible certification program is Rénoclimat (Quebec only).

Conditions

To take advantage of the program, your renovations have to have an EnerGuide 90 GJ/year or under, confirmed following an evaluation performed after work is complete, as required, by Rénoclimat representatives and assessors.

Eligible homes include single-family detached homes, row houses and semi-detached homes, as well as residential rental properties with 4 units or less where the owner is an occupant.

The Sustainable Home Program applies to minimum refinancing of $10,000 for renovations (total minimum mortgage of $100,000).

Sustainable Home Program advantages are conditional upon a 5-year commitment to keeping your mortgage with Desjardins.

  1. Talk about the Sustainable Home Program with your advisor when you refinance your mortgage.
  2. Get a Desjardins mortgage to finance your sustainable renovations.

You'll get all the advantages of the Sustainable Home Program if you:

  • Meet the program conditions
  • Show your advisor the EnerGuide rating sticker (90 GJ/year or under) following an evaluation performed after work is complete, as required, by Rénoclimat representatives and assessors.

Due to program procedures and conditions, and to renovation schedules, there may be a delay between the end of renovations and the time you receive your environmental certification.

* Applies to minimum refinancing of $10,000 for renovations (total minimum mortgage of $100,000).
